New ID requirements for Visitors to Thomas Embling Hospital

New ID requirements for Visitors to Thomas Embling Hospital

From mid-morning on 17 October our new hospital entrance became the way all consumers, staff and visitors access Thomas Embling Hospital (TEH). This marks the completion of the first major new building at the hospital, and a major milestone in our hospital redevelopment. The new entrance building was designed to help the pathway in, and out, of the hospital to be clear, smooth and accessible to all.  The foyer has easy access to our reception staff and a quiet family and carers lounge.

To enter the hospital, it is essential that all visitors are registered, as entry is not possible without this. Registering is easy and our reception staff will support you throughout the process. Visitors will only be required to register once, and after that your journey into the hospital should be seamless!  If you had previously registered with us, we apologise but we will need to you to undertake a new registration on your first visit through the new entrance.

To register you will need to provide 100 points of ID and have a new photo and biometrics captured. Preferred forms of ID include a Victorian driver’s licence (physical card or digital licence on VicRoads app or Service Victoria app), or passport. A photo of a licence is not able to be accepted.

If you do not have a Victorian driver’s licence or a passport, please contact our reception staff on 03 9495 9100 or email info@forensicare.vic.gov.au for further guidance.

The registration process is a quick, but please allow an additional 5-10 minutes before your allocated visit time for this. Again, this is requirement on the first visit entering via the new entrance only.

Forensicare maintains a completely independent and secure biometric system which is not shared with any external agency.
